Curriculum Vitae
A. C. (Dean)
Macris has over 25 years experience in human factors and industrial
engineering. In 1985 he formed his own consultancy, and has been
providing expert research, testimony and consulting services in the
areas of personal injury/product liability, safety, design analysis,
and warnings and labels.
Mr. Macris holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Illinois, and a M.S., Mechanical Engineering from the
University of Connecticut. He also has completed Graduate Studies in
Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Mr. Macris served as a U.S. Naval
nuclear submarine officer, completing the U.S. Navy's Submarine School,
and the U.S. Navy's Nuclear Power School. He served aboard the USS
William H. Bates SSN 680 and the USS Whale SSN 638. His Navy career
spanned the period between June 1971 and September 1976.
Mr. Macris has been a member of the Human Factors Society for over 25
years. He has published and presented several papers in the areas of
human factors, human performance and organizational/cultural issues. He
also publishes a quarterly newsletter "UPDATE" on various human
performance topics.
